Chinese olive
Basic information
1. Temperature
Olives prefer warmth to frost.
It is suitable for olive development in areas where the average annual temperature is over 19.7℃ and the daily ultra-low temperature lasts for less than 3 hours at minus 3℃.
2. Water
Olives grow normally in areas with an annual precipitation of 1200 to 1400mm.
If the olive root is soaked in water for a long time, it will rot or die.
3. Lighting
The olive ophilous, but does not insolate, and resists strong negativism.
4. Soil
Olive is adaptable to soil and grows well in soil with pH4.5-6.5.
Too wet clay will not do.
Cultivation guide
1. Planting
The slope should be paid attention to, winter frost areas should choose south or southeast.
Coastal areas often northeast typhoons, the conditions of the region should choose the southwest for the orchard.
The cultivation density is usually 300 plants /hm2, using rectangular or triangular, plant row spacing 6*6m.
2. Soil management
Soil ploughing can be in the form of whole-garden ploughing or hole widening and soil improvement.
After planting, expand the planting hole outside the original hole, and fill in weeds, soil manure, etc. to improve the soil.
Weeding 3-4 times per year, arable land 8-10cm deep after rain in spring and summer and autumn and winter.
In the season of high temperature, drought and rainstorm, weeds are used to cover the tree tray with a thickness of 10-15cm.
Due to the heavy precipitation in olive producing areas, the soil loss is serious, resulting in bare root system.
3. Fertilizer water management
Young trees should enlarge their roots and crown.
Young tree roots less, should frequently fertilize, fertilize less, fertilize once every two months.
Each plant was controlled at 0.2-0.3kg of pure nitrogen, 0.15-0.2kg of pure phosphorus and 0.15-0.2kg of pure potassium.
Results the purpose of tree fertilization was to promote flower bud differentiation and fruit enlargement.
The first application of pre - flowering fertilizer, mainly quick - effect fertilizer, combined with organic fertilizer.
Apply 5kg of compound fertilizer to each tree.
The second application of strong flowers and fruit fertilizer, the amount of flexible fertilizer.
After the third harvest, apply organic fertilizer, 200kg per plant.
4. Cutting
Olive trees can select 3-5 branches with uniform distribution and uniform strength at the 1.5-2m trunk as the main branch.
It usually takes 5 to 7 years for a solid tree to bear fruit after it has been finalized.
The olive tree has obvious dominance at the top and vigorous growth.
For fresh fruit trees, give priority to light pruning.
For mature fruit trees, cut the top of the branch tip by 5-10cm for 2-3 years.
5. Harvest
The fruits used for processing preserves can be picked early and fresh fruits can be harvested only when they are fully ripe.
There are three kinds of harvesting methods: falling with bamboo poles, picking trees by hand, and chemical fruit harvesting.
Use 40% ethephon 300 times aqueous solution, spray evenly on the fruit.
