Passion fruit cultivation
Growing environment:
Temperature: The most suitable growth temperature of egg fruit is 20-30℃, and the area where the annual average temperature is above 18℃ is the most suitable growth. When the temperature is below 30℃, the growth is slow; when the temperature is below 15℃, the vegetative growth is inhibited; when the temperature is below 0℃, the plants will be frozen, and generally grow well at the temperature of no less than 0℃; when the temperature is -2℃, the plants will be seriously damaged or even die.
Rainfall: Generally annual rainfall between 1500-2000 mm and evenly distributed under the condition of egg fruit growth best, more drought tolerance.
Light: As a tropical fruit, eggfruit likes full sun to promote growth and nutrient accumulation. Long sunshine conditions are conducive to the flowering of egg fruit, the most suitable growth in the annual sunshine hours of 2300 to 2800 hours.
Soil: Egg-fruit has strong adaptability and does not require much of the soil. The pH value of the soil is 5.5-6.5.
The flower bud of the egg fruit belongs to the current differentiation type, while shooting, while differentiation, from flower bud differentiation to flowering only about 30 days. Cuttings from that year's new plant should be in flower by June, and a small amount of fruit will be available in August. The second year into the formal fruiting period, every year from March to November can be multiple flowering, into branches and vine base each section can form 1 flower, production can be formed continuously 4-6 normal flowers, after every 2-3 energy saving to form normal flowers. Buds form and bloom 18-20 days, usually between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The time it takes for fruit to ripen varies depending on the flowering season, with flowers that bloom in May to June maturing 50-60 days after flowering, flowers that bloom in August to September taking 70-90 days, and flowers that bloom after October taking 100-120 days. It has a high rate of self-pollination and ripening fruit from mid-June to early February, with the most concentrated ripening time in early July and late October, respectively. Plant life is about 20 years.
